Traceroute renders the tracing of a path to an accessible
internet address. It reflects the network route which was
used to reach a specified address. (Note that it does not
include a return path, but rather, only the one which was
used to access a given address, which is not unchanging).
The test also displays response times (in milliseconds),
which indicate the travel time for a packet to make the
route. Again, response times will vary, based upon such
as the network load. The results are useful in locating
potential trouble 'spots' on complex networks which are
connected together by routers.
